AMMONITES!!

I think the ammonites are coming along very nicely!  I applied more fixative after last time and spent my time today sticking with the details.  I applied more black to the darkest areas and added some white to give some high-lights.  I applied more fixative after.  I can honestly say that this project has used the most fixative of any other one I've done!  I think I will work on the background next time.  I want to do a varied/graded dark background to enhance the shape and colours of the ammonites.  I've never done it before, so I'm really hoping I can pull it off :)

Hmm.  I'm not sure if you can see this at all!  Since I still had some time and I was waiting for the fixative to dry anyway, I thought I'd start laying out my poppy painting.  The above is supposed to be a line drawing of the 2 flowers.  I also started lining up the shadows in the petals.  We'll see how well I can follow it after my first wash :D
